The Famous White Cliffs of Dover
Itinary
After leaving the Port of Dover we will head west to Samphire Hoe, Eurotunnel’s nature reserve. It is the only place in Kent where we can stand on reclaimed land and be wowed by the line of famous White Cliffs behind us.
After a short walk in this unique country park, created during the construction of the Channel Tunnel, we will continue our journey to the Battle of Britain Memorial and learn about “The Few”, who protected this coast and the rest of the country in the worrying times of 1940. The Memorial is located on the clifftop from where you can admire stunning views over the English Channel.
Our next stop will be to the east of Dover at the White Cliffs Experience, where we will take a short stroll to a vantage spot offering a classic view of the famous cliffs together with Dover’s mighty Norman Castle.
Following a short drive along the coast, we conclude our tour in scenic St Margaret’s Bay, providing us with a totally different perspective of the dramatic White Cliffs rising up high above our heads.
