After hearing from clients on several occasions that we should be operating our own tours, we took the plunge 5 years ago and set up our own business, England Plus Tours.
We soon discovered that our main market was offering shore excursions from Dover Cruise Terminal, but we have since built up a steady flow of clients travelling down from London on the High Speed Train. Our long-haul clients, who typically come from North America or Australia, tend to book longer tours with us and either use a hotel in Kent as a base or travel further afield with us on a touring holiday to other parts of the UK or the nearby continent. So far, we have taken private groups to the National Parks of Northern England, the Highlands of Scotland, Northern France and Belgium.
We hope our new website will whet your appetite and look forward to seeing you on one of our tours very soon!
Meet the England Plus Team
The south-east of England never fails to amaze me with its magnificent landscapes, its beautiful villages and its wealth of historic places, many of which have been in continuous use for centuries.
Originally trained as a linguist, I started out in tourism by working on cruise ships. Some years ago, I was very proud to receive the prestigious Blue Badge for tour guiding in the South-East of England. My specialist area covers the counties of Kent, East and West Sussex and Surrey. My aim is to make all my guests feel safe and relaxed and I will do my very best to bring places alive for you with interesting stories and anecdotes.
Hopefully, my great passion for the area will rub off and you will leave South-East England wanting to come back for more!
I am also a linguist and have led large group tours throughout the UK and Europe for over 30 years. With England Plus Tours, it is a very different experience as we are able to treat our guests as individuals and get to know them on a much more personal level. With a smaller vehicle, it also means that we can visit places that are inaccessible to larger tour groups. As you can see from our website, the county of Kent is brimming with fascinating places and is steeped in history. There really is something here to appeal to all tastes and all ages. If you would like to venture further afield, no problem at all! We would love to take you anywhere in the UK or the nearby continent.
