Kent in The Battle of Britain

Itinerary
Explore the area around Dover to learn about the important role of this part of the country throughout WW2. Picture the life of the British people who lived in ‘Hellfire Corner’ during this tumultuous period.
Step back in time to WW2 and see for yourself how the section of coast between Folkestone and Dover played such a vital role in defending the realm by guarding its most crucial line of defence.
After leaving the Port of Dover we first head to picturesque St Margaret’s Bay, dramatically located underneath the famous White Cliffs of Dover. We then travel inland to the unique Battle of Britain Museum in Hawkinge, the site of the closest airfield to occupied France during WW2. On our way back from Hawkinge, we drive through the seaside town of Folkestone, which played a very important role during both world wars. Our next stop is the poignant Battle of Britain Memorial located on the cliff top in Capel-le-Ferne. After our visit to the Memorial we drive along the cliffs back to Dover cruise terminal.
